Role: Quality Checker

Task: Check for grammar, timing and translation mistake. Use Aegisub to fix the timing if it’s wrong (sometimes the timer make mistakes because their knowledge of Japanese language is very basic).

Requirement:

  • Good English
  • JLPT N3 (at least)
  • Willing to volunteer to do work rather than just wait for instruction
  • Has Facebook (because our group discussion is there)
  • Know how to use Aegisub (basic)

Advantages:

  • Gain experience
  • Gain happiness when someone appreciating your work ๐Ÿ˜€

Disadvantages:

  • Sometimes tiring and stressing because a few people will still complain despite you’re working hard on it
  • No profit
Fulfilled role

Role: Timer & Typesetter

Requirement:

(RED=Very Important, ORANGE=Less Important)

  • Know how to use Aegisub
  • Know just a little bit of Japanese (just enough to time the text correctly to what the people in the video said)
  • Willing to learn new Aegisub skills by your own if you’re still lacking
  • Has a good eye with fonts and colors
  • Work under pressure – time constraints
  • Willing to volunteer to do work rather than just wait for instruction
  • Has Facebook (because our group discussion is there)

Bonus:

  • Know how to use ASSDraw & make basic effects (eg. fade text, text appear left to right, moving or scrolling text or karaoke)
  • Good English (so that you can correct the grammar while timing it)

Advantages:

  • Become one of the first person to watch the video with sub :v
  • Be able to suggest what to sub
  • Gain experience
  • Gain happiness when someone appreciating your work ๐Ÿ˜€

Disadvantages:

  • Sometimes tiring and stressing because a few people will still complain despite you’re working hard on it
  • No profit
